WELLAND: ‘Heartfelt Prayers’ For Paris

By Joe Barkovich, Scribbler-at-large

thY627S6E6WELLAND – Kudos to someone at the City of Welland.

A message was posted in the aftermath of the attacks and bloodshed in Paris, France, on Friday:

“Our thoughts and most heartfelt prayers are with the people of Paris, France, following the senseless tragedy in six locations across the City of Paris today.”

A small but class act, I’d say. A collaborative effort on the part of city staff, is my guess. ‘Well done’, we need to say.

The website also provides a link to the ongoing coverage provided by US media outlet CNN.

Posts on social media are also reporting that the Main Street bridge this evening will be illuminated in the colours of the Tricolore, the French flag: blue, white and red.
