Rao’s team will meet St. Jean de Brebeuf from Hamilton Friday 12:30 p.m. at Holy Cross gym. Holy Cross is at 460 Linwell.

The winner advances to the championship side of the bracket and plays on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Denis Morris gym. The loser moves on to the consolation side of the bracket and plays Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Holy Cross.

The tournament’s top  seed is St. Michael’s College, Toronto, Rao said.

Rao’s Irish go into the tournament with a 23-7 record. Other teams from this area taking part in the Classic are Denis Morris and Saint Francis, both St. Catharines schools and Saint Paul, Niagara Falls.

“It looks like we are at full strength right now and no changes to the line up,” Rao said in an e-mail “All eight players will contribute. We are looking forward to playing, the Catholic field is always strong so we expect a tough game.”
