LIBRARY HOURS FOR EASTER WEEKEND
WELLAND – Both locations of the Library will be closed on Good Friday, March 25, and open regular hours on Saturday, March 26. The libraries are closed Easter Sunday, March 27 and Easter Monday, March 28. Library hours and location information is available here.
There are no items due when the library is closed. You can return your items to the drop box any time at both locations. Check out e-books, movies and music from our website. Renew items, search the catalogue and place holds anytime here.
DEADLINE EXTENDED FOR COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS
WELLAND –The City of Welland has again extended the deadline for appointments to various committees.
The ad on the Civic Corner page lists three advisory committees and one committee for which new members still are needed. They are, with the number of citizen appointments provided in brackets:
Accessibility Advisory Committee (3); Market Square Advisory Committee (4);Town and Gown Committee (1); Welland Community Wellness Complex Advisory Committee (1).
The new deadline for applying is on or before 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 28. Full details on the Civic Corner page in your newspaper or on the city’s website.

SPRING CLEANUP AT CATHOLIC CEMETERY
WELLAND – Annual Spring Cleanup at Holy Cross Cemetery begins Monday, April 11. All wreaths, tin cans, glass jars, flower pots, and similar articles not removed will be disposed of on April 11th.
If anyone is unable to pick up their wreaths, etc. by that date they can call the cemetery at 905.734.4172 and make arrangements for the staff to hold the articles for a short period of time until they are able to come to the cemetery to pick them up

RAISING FUNDS FOR MANY HANDS PROJECT

DEADLINE NEAR FOR ADAMS AWARD NOMINATIONS
WELLAND – The T. Roy Adams Humanitarian of the Year is awarded annually by Niagara Region to a current resident of Niagara to honour the memory of the late T. Roy Adams. This is the fourteenth year of the Award. The recipient will be someone who best exemplifies Roy’s values and dedication to community service; a person who sees volunteerism as an integral part of their life.
Roy Adams was an eminent Niagaran, well known throughout the Region, Canada, and abroad for his service to God, his country and his fellow citizens. The deadline for receiving nominations is March 31.

MUSEUM HOSTS LIVE REPTILE SHOW
WELLAND – London Reptiles will be presenting a live reptile show on Friday March 18 from 1-2:30pm at Welland Museum.
There will be an opportunity after the show for children (and families) to meet some of the creatures they saw during the presentation. The cost is $5 per child.

WELLAND – The Library is hosting Income Tax Clinics again this year for people on low and fixed incomes.
