Freezing rain warning in effect for:
- Niagara Falls – Welland – Southern Niagara Region
- St. Catharines – Grimsby – Northern Niagara Region
Freezing rain is expected to begin this evening, as precipitation spreads into the area and temperatures fall below zero.
Several millimetres of ice accumulation are possible tonight before the freezing rain changes to rain on Thursday morning as temperatures rise above zero.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Utility outages may occur.
