WELLAND – Have no doubt about the popularity of Niagara College.
A huge crowd of visitors – most of them prospective students – was at the Welland campus today for the college’s Spring Open House. A similar event was taking place simultaneously at the Niagara-on-the-Lake campus. The hours were from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“It’s a lot bigger than I thought it would be,” said Karyena Simmons, who was here for the day from the London area and added,“I have relatives in town so finding accommodation isn’t a concern of mine.”
Several program information sessions were offered during the open house. These included: Academic and Liberal Studies, Media Studies, Allied Health, Community Studies, Technology Studies, Justice and Fitness Studies, Nursing and Personal Support Worker and Trade Studies.
Guided tours were offered throughout the day. The one I tagged along with part of the way was interesting and informative.
The open house brochure available for visitors was headlined: ‘It’s time to experience all that makes NC unique.’ Based on the buzz about the place, many, many people liked what they saw and heard.
