Gadabout Gardener

Even in today’s punitive heat and humidity, Frank Reddon, a gardener with the City of Welland, says he loves being outdoors and tending Welland’s outstanding display floral beds. Reddon is pictured at work this morning, Wednesday, August 10, keeping this bed at Prince Charles Drive and First Avenue neat and tidy. It’s a salute to the 150th anniversary of Welland’s First Baptist Church. A┬áthemed bed on the opposite side of Prince Charles Drive pays tribute to the Canadian Federation of University Women (University Women’s Club in Welland), celebrating its 75th anniversary and a new display bed this year, at West Side Road and Broadway, has as its theme the 50th anniversary of Welland’s Croatian National Home.
