BOO! HALLOWEEN ‘SPOOKTACULAR’ AT WELLAND’S CITY HALL

WELLAND – Welland’s city hall is hosting Halloween Spooktacular on Monday,  Oct. 31 from 8:30am to 3:30pm. The event is a fundraiser for the United Way of South Niagara.

“Stop by and enjoy some yummy treats for a good cause,” says the posting on the city’s Civic Corner page. For full details yisit the website or checkout the Civic Corner page in Thursday’s Tribune.

HO, HO, HO – WANT TO VOLUNTEER?

WELLAND – Santa Claus comes to Welland Saturday, Nov. 19. That’s the date of the city’s Santa Claus parade. And here’s the big question: who at city hall has the connections to bring him here so early?

Volunteers are needed as traffic marshals, parade marshals, ride-along marshals, and end-of-parade marshals. Folks can apply through volunteer@welland.ca. See the ad on the Civic Corner page.

WELLAND – Niagara Region’s Green Scene, out this week, is chock full of useful info about things like: fall branch collection, household hazardous waste depots, green bins, improvements to Niagara Region transit routes, the provincial offences court under construction in Welland, Christmas holiday topics like Christmas tree collection, a holiday sorting guide and how to handle extra holiday garbage, and more. It’s a keeper – don’t toss it into recycling just yet!

FOOD FOR FINES IS BACK

LIBRARY OPEN SUNDAYS

WELLAND –The main branch of the library is now open every Sunday from 1– 5pm. Staff look forward to seeing you! Free parking available all day on weekends and evenings after 6 pm.
