MITTEN TREE NEEDS YOUR HELPING HANDS
WELLAND – Help the City of Welland decorate its 2016 Mitten Tree with items such as adult and children’s mittens, hats, scarves, slippers, socks and onesies. Toiletries, children’s toys, canned/boxed non-perishable food items too! Clothing items can be new, handmade or store bought; toiletries & food donations store bought only. This year there are three Mitten Trees:
Welland Community Wellness Complex (145 Lincoln Street) Last day to donate: December 9 @ 12pm
Civic Square (60 East Main Street) Last day to donate: December 9 @ 12pm
Donations go to residents of Welland through various organizations.
SOUP’S ON! IN JANUARY
WELLAND –The 15th annual Soup’sOn! fundraiser is being held Friday, January 27, 2017 at St. Kevin parish hall.
Participants include Niagara College’s Canadian Food and Wine Institute, Blessed Trinity, Eastdale, Confederation, Lakeshore Catholic and Notre Dame soup prep teams and Stephanie the Lunch Lady.
Tickets are on sale now! Tickets are available from the parish office Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and before and after weekend Masses.
Ticket price is $10 per person. Eight soups are on the menu!

VELVETONES SING SONGS OF THE SEASON
WELLAND – The Velvetones present their annual Christmas concert on Sunday, December 11 at the Welland Community Wellness Complex starting at 2pm in the theatre.
It features carols and songs of Christmas and a wide variety of Christmas music. There will be solo, duet and quartet performances as well. Tickets are $6 for passholders and $8 for non-passholders.
LIBRARY BRANCH WILL BE CLOSED

CHRISTMAS CAKES ON SALE THIS WEEKEND
WELLAND – Christmas cakes made by the Monks of Val Notre-Dame Abbey will be sold following Masses at St. Kevin church this weekend, December 10 and December 11.
The cakes come in various sizes. A deluxe 1kg cake that comes in a decorative tin is $25; a bar cake, 600g, is $15. New this year is a gift basket with two boxes of maple and caramel-filled chocolates, mini-fruit cake and Okaramel Spread, for $25. Cash only. The cake sale is a fundraiser for Campaign Life Coalition.
