Statements

ISSSUED: 10:18 AM EST Saturday 10 December 2016
Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Niagara Falls – Welland – Southern Niagara Region
  • St. Catharines – Grimsby – Northern Niagara Region

A total 10 to 15 cm of snow possible beginning Sunday and ending Monday morning.

A low pressure system brewing in Colorado is expected to track towards the central Great Lakes later this weekend and impact the Golden Horseshoe Sunday and Sunday night. Current information suggests the precipitation will fall primarily as snow, but with a possibility of changing over to rain early Monday morning, particularly near the shores of Lake Ontario.

The timing of this snowfall will likely have an impact on the Monday morning commute.

Environment Canada will continue to monitor the track of this low and snowfall amounts.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ec.cpio-tempetes-ospc-storms.ec@canada.ca or tweet reports to #ONStorm.
