Senior Irish Ready For Alberta Tourney

WELLAND – Notre Dame’s senior boys basketball team leaves today for Edmonton, where they will be competing in the REB Invitational tournament at Jasper Place High School.

Irish coach Mark Gallagher said opening ceremonies are Thursday at 8:30 a.m. (10: 30 a.m. here) and the Irish will play their first game, at 12:15 p.m. (2:15 p.m. here) against Lethbridge Collegiate Institute.

Both will be live streamed at https://sites.google.com/a/share.epsb.ca/reb-invitational/

If the Irish win their first game, they are scheduled to play Kelowna Secondary Thursday at 8:00pm (10:00pm here).

The Irish played, and defeated, St. Francis Phoenix  Monday night at Dillon Hall in an exhibition tune-up for  the tournament. St. Francis last week won the St. Catharines Standard tournament.
