HARVEST KITCHEN SCHEDULE
WELLAND – Here is the schedule for the Harvest Kitchen program in Welland, it started in November and runs through to March. It is a hot meal program with no overnight component.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED ON CITY COMMITTEES
WELLAND – The City of Welland is looking to fill volunteer positions on three committees. These include:
Active Transportation Advisory Committee, six member-at-large positions;
Welland Community Wellness Complex Advisory Committee, one member-at-large position;
Welland Farmers’ Market vendor positions on the Market Square Advisory Committee, two positions.
Applications must be received in the Office of the City Clerk on or before 4:30pm Monday, Feb. 6.

NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR THE 2017 T. ROY ADAMS HUMANITARIAN AWARD
WELLAND – Nominations are now open for the 2017 T. Roy Adams Humanitarian of the Year Award.
The award honours the memory of the late Councillor T. Roy Adams and is presented annually to a current resident of Niagara who best exemplifies Roy’s values and dedication to community service; a person who sees volunteerism as an integral part of their life. Last year’s winner was Welland resident Paul Turner.
Residents can view criteria for the award and submit nominations online at niagararegion.ca/government/awards-bursaries. Nominations are open until March 31, 2017. Roy Adams was an eminent Niagaran, well known throughout the Region, Canada, and abroad for his service to God, his country and his fellow citizens. FAMILY FUN DAY
WELLAND – A great way to spend the Family Day holiday – at Family Fun Day, Feb. 20.
It’s from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Welland Community Wellness Complex, 145 Lincoln St.
Some of the events/activities: Club Rex Dinosaur Presentation 10:30am, Reptile Kingdom Travelling Road Show 12:30pm, Drumfit presentation, giant pirate ship inflatable, pre-school playzone, face painting, carnival game, pickleball and more.
ARTIST CRIS DELARA’S WORK ON DISPLAY
WELLAND – This month, artwork from the talented Cris Delara is featured in the library’s display case. Cris Delara is a professional portraitist, illustrator and pinup artist who works in traditional and digital media; she is also a member of the Portrait Society of America. Her featured artwork is primarily black and white portraits, using mainly graphite and charcoal materials. Delara works out of her studio at 13 Cross St. in Welland and offers classes teaching black and white techniques to students.

FAMILY DAY FREE SKATE
WELLAND – A Family Day free skate is being held February 20 at Welland’s main arena. It’s from 10:30a.m. to 12:30pm and 1pm to 3pm.
HAVE A COFFEE AND A CHAT WITH CAMPION
WELLAND – The Welland Mayor’s Coffee Break session is Thursday, February 16 at the Wellness Complex from 10:45am to noon. Everyone is welcome! This is a free event but pre-registration is required through the reception office.
