WELLAND – The City of Welland’s Mayor and senior staff will be meeting with provincial officials at next week’s Ontario Good Roads Association (OGRA) conference in Toronto.
Welland’s delegation is comprised of: Mayor Frank Campion, Chief Administrative Officer Gary Long, and General Manager of Infrastructure Services and City Engineer Sal Iannello. The following meetings are scheduled:
- The Honourable Brad Duguid, Minister of Economic Development and Growth
- Patrick Brown, Leader, Official Opposition
- Ernie Hardeman MPP, PC Municipal Affairs Critic
- Senior departmental officials from Municipal Affairs and Housing, and Transportation.
“Our working relationships with provincial officials and staff are important in helping us advance our strategic priorities,” stated Welland’s Mayor Frank Campion. “We look forward to continuing the constructive dialogue next week and ensuring the City has a strong presence at the provincial level.
“The City has embarked on an aggressive vision for 2017 and our governmental relations strategy will be integral to helping us achieve our vision,” stated Chief Administrative Officer Gary Long. “Council’s strategic priorities encompass directions and specific actions we plan to undertake in 2017 with continued support from our regional, provincial, and federal partners.”
The 2017 OGRA Annual Conference is being held from February 26th to March 1st. Approximately 2,200 municipal leaders from across Canada and leading thinkers from around the world will come together to discuss topics of local, provincial, national, and international importance.
