About 120 people turned out Saturday afternoon for the first of three meetings to collect opinion about potential changes to Welland’s Go Quiet bylaw which prohibits motorized craft on the Welland Recreational Waterway. Six attendees made up to eight-minute presentations each, all in favour of the existing Go Quiet policy. Then, impromptu speakers were given the floor for up to two minutes each with several of them speaking in favour of allowing motorized craft on the waterway. Two more meetings are being held: Thursday, March 16, and Tuesday, March 28, both @ 7pm. All meetings are in the Theatre at the Welland Community Wellness Complex. (Photo by Joe Barkovich.)
