COLOUR AND LEARN: CANADA’S FIRSTS #1
WELLAND – In addition to a Draw and Learn program, Welland Museum has the Colour and Learn program.
The museum’s Colour and Learn is intended for children ages 9-12. The program uses detailed colouring pages of historical people and events. BINGO, ELIMINATION DRAW TO RAISE FUNDS FOR IRISH HOOPSTERS
WELLAND – Having accepted an invitation to play in a holiday hoops tournament in south Florida, Notre Dame senior boys basketball team is holding a bingo fundraiser in September.
The bingo is one of two fundraisers scheduled for fall. The date is Tuesday, Sept. 12 at Delta Bingo, Niagara Falls. Tickets are $15 which includes two single books which contain regular games and the regular jackpot only. Also one $5 voucher for use in the Tap Tix machines.
Tickets can be purchased from Coach Gallagher, 905-788-2636 or Chris Biggar, 905-380-2593 until school starts in September.
The second fundraiser is an elimination draw evening. More details will be released at a later date.
The senior Irish will be in the All-Catholic New Year’s Holiday Tournament in Miami the first week of January 2018. The tourney is being hosted by Belen Jesuit Prep School. The eight-team tournament features six south Florida teams, a team from New York City, and the Irish.

CROATIAN TOURING GROUP IN CONCERT

FIRST BOOK CLUB AT MERRITT ISLAND
WELLAND – Join in this summer at the Merritt Island pavilion July 18, 2pm, as library staff bring the popular Afternoon Book Club outdoors.
Each participant is asked to bring their favourite book to the July Summer Book Club to discuss all the reasons why they chose that particular title.
The Library will provide light refreshments. Registration is not required.

CANOE RENTAL PROGRAM OPEN WEEKDAYS, WEEKENDS
WELLAND – Welland’s popular canoe rental program is up and running at the PenFinancial Credit Union Flatwater Centre.
Canoes, solo kayaks, tandem kayaks, standup paddle boards and pedal boats are available for rent at the site.
The centre is open 10am to 6pm on weekends June to September. During July and August the centre is open weekdays from 11am to 6pm. Cancellations due to weather will be posted on the Welland Canoe Rental Program Facebook page
DON’T MISS JAMMIN’ AT THE MARKET
WELLAND – The 2017 music series Jammin’ at the downtown market is now in full swing.
