Feathered Friends

The front-yard bird feeders attract the attention of various feathered friends, some well known, some not. One of the latter, for me, is pictured in the top photo and in the second row from the bottom, right image (notice the bright, rufous cap on its head). It is a Chipping Sparrow. It has wintered in the south and has returned to Ontario to breed. That information from Wellander Brad Clements, a bird watcher of considerable repute and acknowledged authority on our winged visitors. /Photos by Joe Barkovich.
