The Purple symbolizes the Wrapped in Courage initiative by the Ontario Association of Interval & Transition Houses, advocating for increased services and awareness about violence against women. Orange represents the United Nations Orange the World Campaign, part of the UNITE initiative to end violence against women globally. This multiyear effort, launched in 2008, calls on governments, organizations, and individuals to unite against the pandemic of violence.
